Drain Pump Timeout / Drain Failure
Washer does not drain; E03 appears and cycle stops with water in drum

Possible Causes
Clogged drain pump filter, Blocked drain hose or standpipe, Foreign object in Asko drain pump impeller, Failed drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Have towels and a shallow pan ready to catch water.
- Step 1 – Access drain filter: On most Asko models, the drain filter is behind a lower front access panel or kick plate. Open the panel and locate the round filter cap.
- Step 2 – Drain residual water: Slowly loosen the filter cap, allowing water to drain into the pan. Once water flow slows, fully remove the cap.
- Step 3 – Clean filter and pump cavity: Remove lint, coins, buttons, and other debris from the filter and pump housing. Reach in carefully to feel for obstructions in the impeller area.
- Step 4 – Inspect drain hose: Check the external drain hose for kinks or crushing. Disconnect from the standpipe or sink and flush with water to ensure it is clear.
- Step 5 – Test drain pump: With power still off, spin the pump impeller with your finger; it should turn freely. If seized, noisy, or loose on the shaft, replace the Asko drain pump.
- Step 6 – Electrical test: Use a multimeter to check pump motor resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed pump that must be replaced.
Reassemble, restore power, and run a drain or spin cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
