Possible Causes
Excessively unbalanced load, Faulty motor tachometer feedback, Worn suspension springs or shock absorbers, Control board spin logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands clear of the drum while it is moving. Unplug the washer before internal inspection.
- Step 1 – Redistribute load: Open the door (once unlocked) and redistribute laundry evenly around the drum. Avoid washing a single heavy item alone.
- Step 2 – Reduce load size: Remove some items if the drum is overfilled. Asko washers need space for clothes to balance during spin.
- Step 3 – Check suspension: Unplug the washer, remove the top panel, and press down on the drum. It should move smoothly and return without excessive bouncing. Inspect suspension springs and shock absorbers for leaks or damage; replace if worn.
- Step 4 – Tachometer and motor check: Inspect the motor tach sensor and wiring for secure connections. A faulty tach can cause the control to misjudge balance.
If E12 occurs frequently even with proper loading, have a technician evaluate the suspension and control system.
