Possible Causes
Water leak into base tray triggering float switch, Loose hose clamp on Asko tub or pump, Cracked drain hose, Faulty inlet valve stuck open causing overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply immediately if a leak is suspected.
- Step 1 – Inspect for visible leaks: Look around and under the washer for water. Remove the lower front panel or side panel (depending on model) to inspect the base tray.
- Step 2 – Check float switch: If there is water in the base tray, carefully sponge or vacuum it out. Locate the float switch and ensure it moves freely. Dry the area thoroughly.
- Step 3 – Identify leak source: Run a short fill cycle while observing the internal hoses: tub-to-pump hose, pump-to-drain hose, inlet hoses, and door gasket. Look for drips or sprays.
- Step 4 – Tighten or replace components: Tighten loose hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, and inspect the door boot for tears. If the inlet valve is dripping when off, replace the valve assembly.
Do not bypass the leak protection system. Resolve the leak fully before returning the washer to service.
