Possible Causes
Door lock mechanism jammed, Control board not sending unlock signal, Water still detected in drum, High temperature lock delay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Do not force the door open.
- Step 1 – Wait a few minutes: Some Asko models delay unlocking after heating. Wait 2–5 minutes.
- Step 2 – Check for water: If water is visible in the drum, run a drain/spin cycle. If the machine will not start, manually drain via the pump filter.
- Step 3 – Manual release: Use the manual door release mechanism (cord or lever) located near the lock behind the lower front panel or gasket.
- Step 4 – Inspect lock: Once open, test and replace the door lock assembly if it is sticking or electrically faulty.
