Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Failed drive motor, Faulty motor tachometer, Defective motor control circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before accessing the rear panel.
- Step 1 – Check belt: Remove the rear panel and inspect the drive belt. If off the pulley, refit it; if cracked or stretched, replace it with an Asko-compatible belt.
- Step 2 – Spin drum by hand: If the drum is very stiff or grinding, bearing or spider issues may be present and require major repair.
- Step 3 – Motor test: Inspect the motor wiring and connector. Test motor windings and tach sensor with a multimeter per Asko specs. Replace the motor if open or shorted.
- Step 4 – PCB diagnosis: If belt and motor are good, the main PCB’s motor drive circuit may have failed.
