Possible Causes
Stuck or failed Start/Pause button, Faulty UI control panel PCB, Child lock enabled on Asko washer, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Check child lock: Refer to your Asko manual; typically holding specific buttons for several seconds toggles the child lock. Try disabling it.
- Step 2 – Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then reconnect and test the Start button again.
- Step 3 – Inspect control panel: Remove the top and then the front control fascia. Check the Start button for physical damage or sticking. Clean any detergent residue.
- Step 4 – Check ribbon cable: Reseat the cable between the UI and main PCB.
If the Start button still does not register, the UI board may need replacement.
