Possible Causes
Open-circuit main wash heater, open-circuit drying heater (washer-dryer), faulty NTC on heater, wiring fault to heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely.
- Identify model type: On pure washers, F14 usually refers to the main wash heater. On washer-dryers, it may refer to the drying heater.
- Inspect heater assemblies: Access the heater(s) from the rear or top depending on model. Check for burnt connectors and damaged wiring.
- Continuity test: With wires disconnected, measure resistance of the heater. Infinite resistance indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
Persistent F14 with good heater: The control board heater drive or associated NTC sensor may be faulty and require replacement.
