Possible Causes

Leak from door seal, leak from hoses or pump, cracked tub or sump hose, activated float switch in base tray

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply.

  • Check for visible leaks: Look around the door seal, detergent drawer, and rear hoses for dripping water.
  • Inspect base tray: Tilt the washer slightly forward or to the side (with help) and look underneath. Many Bauknecht models have a float switch in a base tray. If water is present, carefully drain and dry the tray with towels or a sponge.
  • Run a short fill test: With panels removed, run a quick cycle and watch for leaks from the inlet valve, tub-to-pump hose, pump, or drain hose.

After fixing the leak: Dry the base completely, reset power, and test again. If F23 returns with no visible water, the float switch or wiring may be faulty and require replacement.
