Door lock detection / safety circuit fault
Washer displays F26, may not start or may stop unexpectedly
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Defective door lock contacts, broken wiring from lock to control, misaligned door, faulty control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer.
- Check door lock operation: Start a cycle and listen for the lock clicking (only if safe and briefly powered). If no click, the lock may be faulty.
- Inspect door hook and strike: Ensure the plastic hook on the door is not cracked or worn. Replace if damaged.
- Check wiring: Access the door lock as in F13 and inspect the harness for breaks or loose connections.
If F26 continues: Replace the door lock assembly. If the issue remains, the main control board door lock input circuit may be defective.
