Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Be aware that the drum and motor edges can be sharp.
Step-by-step checks:
- Access the motor: Remove the rear panel. Take off the drive belt from the motor pulley and drum pulley.
- Inspect the tachometer: On Beko universal motors, the tachometer is a small coil assembly at the rear of the motor. Check that the magnet on the shaft is intact and secure.
- Test the tach coil: Disconnect the tach wires and measure resistance (typically 100–200 Ω; refer to service data). If open circuit, replace the motor or tach assembly (depending on design).
- Check wiring: Follow the motor harness to the PCB. Look for chafed insulation, broken conductors, or loose plugs. Repair or replace as needed.
When to seek help: If the tach and wiring are good, the motor drive circuit on the PCB may be defective. This is a complex repair best handled by a technician.
