Possible Causes
Cracked external drain hose, Loose hose clamp at pump or tub, Split tub-to-pump (sump) hose, Blocked pump causing hose to blow off
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and close water taps.
Step-by-step checks:
- Inspect external drain hose: Pull the machine forward and check the hose from the pump outlet to the standpipe or sink. Look for splits, pinholes, or kinks. Replace if damaged.
- Check internal hoses: Remove rear or bottom panel. Inspect the large black sump hose from tub to pump and the short hose from pump to outlet. Tighten or replace hose clamps as needed.
- Clean pump and sump: Remove the sump hose and clear any obstructions that may cause pressure surges.
