Possible Causes
Leak from door seal, Leak from hoses or pump, Cracked tub or sump hose, Float switch in base tray activated by water
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply immediately. Do not tip the machine without securing loose components.
Step-by-step checks:
- Inspect for visible leaks: Check around the door seal, detergent drawer, and rear hose connections for drips or water trails.
- Check base tray: Carefully pull the washer forward and slightly tilt it back to see if water drains from the base (have towels ready). If water is present, the internal float switch has likely triggered E13.
- Locate leak source: Remove the rear and/or side panels. Run a short fill cycle while observing hoses, pump, tub-to-pump hose, and door seal area. Look for slow seepage or spraying.
- Repair or replace components: Tighten hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, and replace a torn door gasket. If the tub is cracked, professional replacement is usually required.
- Reset leak protection: Once the leak is fixed and the base is completely dry (including the float switch area), reconnect power and test a short cycle.
