Possible Causes
Defective door lock mechanism, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Faulty door lock wiring harness, Failed control module door lock relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply before any disassembly.
This code indicates the door is not locking correctly.
- Check door closure: Ensure no laundry is trapped between the door and gasket. Firmly close the door and try starting a short cycle again.
- Inspect door latch hook: Open the door and examine the metal/plastic latch hook on the door. If it is loose, bent, or cracked, it must be replaced.
- Test door lock operation: With the door closed, start a cycle and listen for a distinct click from the door lock. If there is no click and the code appears, the lock may be faulty.
- Access door lock assembly: Remove the front door seal clamp (spring band) and gently pull back the gasket to access the door lock on the cabinet. Remove the mounting screws and inspect the lock and connector for burning, corrosion, or loose pins.
- Check wiring: Verify the wiring harness from the door lock to the control module is fully seated and not damaged or pinched.
- Replace door lock: If the lock shows signs of damage or tests open with a multimeter, install a new Bosch-compatible door lock assembly, reattach the gasket and clamp, and test.
