Possible Causes
Heater coated with heavy limescale, Restricted water circulation around heater, Faulty NTC sensor, Low water level during heating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the machine to cool.
- Run descaling cycle: Run an empty 90°C cycle with a Bosch-approved descaler or citric-acid-based cleaner to remove limescale from the heater and tub.
- Check water level: Ensure the machine fills to the correct level; low level can cause overheating. If not, inspect the pressure switch and inlet valve.
- Inspect heater and NTC: Access the heater, check for heavy scale buildup, and test the NTC sensor resistance. Replace the heater if badly scaled or the NTC if readings are out of range.
