Washer shows E40; general door lock error on some Bosch platforms

Safety first: Unplug the washer before any disassembly.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes flush with the cabinet and no clothing is trapped.
• Inspect hinge and catch: Check that the door hinge is not loose or sagging and that the catch aligns with the lock opening.
• Test lock: Start a cycle and listen for the lock click. If absent and E40 appears, replace the Bosch door lock assembly.
