Possible Causes

Clogged drain filter, Blocked drain pump impeller, Obstructed drain hose or standpipe, Failed drain pump motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and keep towels or a shallow tray ready for water spillage.

Clean the drain filter:

  • Locate the service flap at the bottom front of the Brandt washer.
  • Open the flap and slowly unscrew the drain filter cap. Allow water to drain into a tray.
  • Remove lint, coins, buttons, and debris from the filter and cavity. Spin the pump impeller with your finger; it should turn freely.

Check the drain hose:

  • Inspect the rear drain hose for kinks or crushing behind the machine.
  • Detach the hose from the standpipe or sink and check for blockages. Flush with water if needed.

Test the drain pump:

  • With the washer unplugged, access the pump from the bottom front or rear panel (depending on model).
  • Disconnect the pump wiring connector and measure coil resistance with a multimeter. Compare to Brandt specifications (typically 150–300 Ω). If open or shorted, replace the pump.
  • Check for signs of leakage or burn marks on the pump body.

Reassemble and test: Refit the filter, close the flap, reconnect hoses, plug in the washer, and run a drain or spin-only program. If D02 reappears despite a clear filter and good pump, the main PCB or pressure switch circuit may require professional diagnosis.
