Washer stops during heating phase; display shows D05 and water remains cold.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.

Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Water in the tub may be hot; allow it to cool before working.
Access the heater:
- Remove the rear panel (or front lower panel on some Brandt models) to access the heater terminals at the bottom of the tub.
Test the heating element:
- Disconnect the heater wires.
- Measure resistance across the heater terminals with a multimeter. Typical values are 20–30 Ω. If open circuit or shorted to ground (test between each terminal and the metal tub), replace the heater.
Check the NTC sensor:
- The NTC is usually clipped into the heater bracket or nearby in the tub wall.
- Disconnect its connector and measure resistance; it should change smoothly with temperature (e.g., 20 kΩ at room temperature). If reading is infinite, zero, or erratic, replace the NTC sensor.
Inspect wiring:
- Check for burnt connectors or melted insulation at the heater and NTC.
- Trace the harness back to the PCB and reseat plugs.
Reassemble and run a hot wash. If D05 returns with a good heater and NTC, the PCB heater relay or control circuit is likely faulty and should be serviced by a professional.
