Possible Causes
Misaligned door hinge, Damaged door catch, Deformed door gasket preventing closure, Weak door lock mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before adjusting hinges or lock.
Check door alignment:
- Close the door slowly and observe if the latch hook lines up with the door lock opening.
- If the door sags, tighten hinge screws or adjust the hinge position if slots are provided.
Inspect door catch and gasket:
- Check the plastic door catch for cracks or wear; replace if loose or broken.
- Inspect the door gasket lip around the opening; ensure it is not folded or warped where it meets the door.
Test closure:
- After adjustments, close the door firmly until you hear a solid click.
- Plug in the washer and start a cycle to confirm D14 is cleared.
If the door still does not lock reliably, replace the door lock assembly and/or door catch.
