Washer has a persistent bad odor inside the drum or on clothes.

Possible Causes

Frequent low-temperature washes, Residual detergent and softener in tub, Mold growth on door gasket, Clogged drain filter holding stagnant water

Cleaning routine:

Run an empty maintenance cycle at 90°C with a washing machine cleaner or 1–2 cups of white vinegar (check Brandt manual for compatibility).
Clean the door gasket thoroughly with a cloth and mild detergent, paying attention to folds.
Remove and clean the detergent drawer and housing.
Clean the drain filter and pump cavity.

Prevention:

Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open between washes to allow drying.
Use the correct amount of high-efficiency detergent.
