Possible Causes

Torn or worn door gasket, Foreign object trapped in gasket lip, Loose or damaged gasket retaining band, Excessive suds causing overflow

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply.

Inspect the gasket:

  • Open the door and carefully examine the rubber gasket all around, especially the bottom, for tears, holes, or cuts.
  • Remove coins, bra wires, or debris trapped in the folds.

Check retaining bands:

  • Ensure the outer metal or plastic clamp around the gasket is tight and properly seated in its groove.
  • If loose or broken, replace the clamp.

Replace gasket if damaged:

  • Remove the outer clamp and peel the gasket off the front panel.
  • Access the inner clamp at the tub side (may require top/front panel removal) and remove it.
  • Fit the new Brandt-compatible gasket onto the tub lip, secure the inner clamp, then refit the gasket to the front panel and install the outer clamp.

Run a short wash and observe for leaks. Use high-efficiency detergent in correct amounts to avoid oversudsing.
