Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Fagor washer from the mains and turn off the water supply before working on it.
Step-by-step checks:
- Inspect the door and latch: Make sure the door closes fully and the latch hook engages the catch. Check for broken plastic on the door hook or cabinet catch and realign the door if it sags.
- Reset the machine: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and try a short cycle. Sometimes E01 is a temporary lock error.
- Access the door lock: Remove the front door seal clamp, peel back the gasket, and locate the door interlock on the cabinet. Check the connector for corrosion or loose pins and reseat it firmly.
- Test the interlock: With a multimeter (power still disconnected), test continuity across the lock terminals when the lock is engaged. If open circuit or intermittent, replace the door lock assembly.
- Check wiring to PCB: Trace the harness from the interlock to the main control board. Look for pinched, burnt, or broken wires and repair or replace as needed.
- Control board check: If the lock and wiring are good but E01 persists, the main PCB relay or triac that drives the lock may be faulty. Replacement of the PCB is usually required and is best done by a qualified technician.
Do not bypass the door lock for testing with the machine powered; this is unsafe and can cause electric shock or flooding.
