Possible Causes

Open-circuit heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Burnt wiring at heater terminals, Faulty main control board heater relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the washer. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.

  • Access the heater: Remove the rear panel. At the bottom of the tub you will see the heater element with two power terminals and an NTC sensor.
  • Test the element: Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the heater terminals. Typical values are 20–30 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
  • Check for earth leakage: Measure between each heater terminal and the metal sheath/earth. Any low resistance suggests insulation failure; replace the element.
  • Test the NTC sensor: Remove the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature (often 20–30 kΩ). Warm it gently; resistance should decrease smoothly. If open, shorted, or erratic, replace the sensor.
  • Inspect wiring and connectors: Look for heat damage or loose connections at the heater and NTC. Repair or replace terminals as needed.

If heater and NTC are good but E05 persists, the PCB heater relay or triac may be faulty; board repair or replacement is then required.
