Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer coil, Worn carbon brushes on motor, Loose motor wiring connector, Defective motor control circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor.
- Access the motor: Remove the rear panel. The drive motor is mounted under the drum with a belt to the pulley.
- Check the belt: Ensure the belt is on the pulley and not excessively loose or frayed. Replace if worn.
- Inspect motor connector: Reseat the multi-pin connector on the motor. Look for burnt pins or broken wires.
- Check carbon brushes (if fitted): Remove the motor and inspect the brushes. If they are shorter than about 1 cm or unevenly worn, replace both brushes with compatible Fagor parts.
- Test tachometer coil: On the rear of the motor is a small round tach coil. Measure its resistance (typically a few hundred ohms). An open circuit indicates failure; replace the motor or tach assembly if separable.
If the motor and wiring test good, the fault may lie in the main PCB’s motor drive circuit, which usually requires board replacement.
