Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Seized drum bearings, Faulty motor windings, Motor triac or relay failure on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer.
- Check drum movement: Spin the drum by hand. It should rotate smoothly. Grinding or stiffness suggests bearing or foreign object issues.
- Inspect the belt: Remove the rear panel and verify the belt is around both the motor and drum pulleys. Refit or replace if off or damaged.
- Check for obstructions: Look between drum and tub for jammed items (e.g., bra wires) that can lock the drum.
- Test motor windings: Disconnect the motor and measure resistance of the windings. Open or shorted windings indicate a bad motor.
If mechanical parts are free and the belt is intact, but the motor never receives power, the PCB motor drive circuit is likely faulty and may require replacement.
