Possible Causes
Heater element shorted to earth, Damaged wiring harness shorting to chassis, Faulty mains interference filter (EMI filter), Defective control board power section
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer and do not reset a repeatedly tripping breaker without finding the cause.
- Inspect power cord and EMI filter: Remove the rear or top cover and check the mains filter module and wiring for burn marks or melted insulation. Replace any damaged components.
- Test heater to earth: Disconnect heater wires and measure resistance between each terminal and the metal sheath/earth. Any low resistance (under megaohms) indicates a short; replace the heater.
- Check harness routing: Look for wires rubbed through on the cabinet or drum. Repair with proper insulated connectors and reroute away from sharp edges.
If no obvious shorts are found, the control board may have internal damage; board replacement is typically required.
