Possible Causes

Safety: Do not operate the washer if the door can open during a cycle.

Inspect door hook: Check the metal or plastic hook on the door for wear or breakage. Replace if damaged.
Test lock operation: Start a cycle and listen for the lock click. If absent, unplug, access the lock, and test the solenoid coil for continuity.
