Possible Causes

Loose or damaged communication ribbon cable, Faulty user interface PCB, Faulty main control PCB, Moisture ingress into console

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer before opening the console.

  • Open console: Remove screws securing the control panel and gently lift it away.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: Check the flat cable between the display/UI and main control for kinks, corrosion, or broken traces. Reseat both ends.
  • Dry moisture: If there are signs of condensation or detergent residue, carefully dry the area and clean with isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth.
  • Board substitution: If reseating cables does not resolve the issue, either the UI board or main control board may be defective. Replace the suspected board with the correct Fisher & Paykel part.
