Possible Causes
Worn Fisher & Paykel suspension rods (top loader), Failed shock absorbers (front loader), Broken balance ring or dampening pads, Machine not leveled on floor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before tipping or moving it.
- Level the washer: Adjust all leveling feet so the washer is stable and does not rock. Lock the feet in place.
- Check suspension: For top loaders, remove the top panel and inspect suspension rods and springs for wear or breakage. For front loaders, inspect shocks for oil leakage or broken mounts.
- Inspect balance ring: On some Fisher & Paykel top loaders, a fluid-filled balance ring at the top of the tub can leak. If fluid is missing or ring is cracked, replace it.
- Replace worn components: Install new Fisher & Paykel suspension rods or shock absorbers in sets to maintain balanced damping.
