Possible Causes
Slow or incomplete draining, Faulty door lock mechanism, Pressure sensor still detecting water level, Blocked pump or drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Be prepared for water spillage when opening hoses.
- Check for standing water: If water is visible in the drum, follow drain pump troubleshooting (see drain-related errors) to clear blockages.
- Manual door release: Many Fisher & Paykel front loaders have a manual release tab near the door lock behind the lower front panel. Pull it to open the door once water is drained.
- Verify pressure system: If the tub is empty but the door remains locked, the pressure sensor may still read water. Inspect and clear the pressure hose and air dome.
- Test door lock: Once drained, test the lock for proper operation. Replace the lock assembly if it fails to unlock reliably.
