Possible Causes
Blocked pressure hose to control module, Faulty Fisher & Paykel pressure sensor on control board, Air leak in pressure tube, Control module failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the top or control panel.
- Locate pressure hose: On many Fisher & Paykel models, a small plastic or rubber tube runs from the outer tub to the control module or separate pressure sensor.
- Inspect for kinks or disconnections: Ensure the hose is firmly attached at both ends and not pinched.
- Clear blockages: Remove the hose from the tub end and gently blow through it toward the control. You should feel clear airflow. If blocked, flush with warm water and dry thoroughly before refitting.
- Check for water in hose: Any water inside the pressure tube can cause false readings. Shake out water and ensure the tub air dome is not clogged with detergent residue.
- Sensor/module replacement: If the hose is clear and intact but E5 persists, the pressure sensor or main control module may be defective and should be replaced as a unit according to the model's parts list.
