Possible Causes
Faulty electronic pressure sensor, Blocked or kinked pressure hose, Air dome on tub clogged with residue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the top or front panels.
- Locate the pressure sensor: On most Frigidaire front-load washers, the pressure sensor is mounted near the top side wall with a small rubber hose running down to the tub or air dome.
- Inspect the pressure hose: Remove the hose from the sensor and the tub connection. Check for kinks, splits, or detergent residue buildup. Rinse the hose with warm water and blow through it to ensure it is clear.
- Clean the air dome: At the tub connection, ensure the air dome port is not clogged with soap scum or lint. Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to gently clear the opening.
- Check electrical connector: Reseat the wiring connector on the pressure sensor. Inspect for corrosion or bent pins.
- Replace the pressure sensor if needed: If the hose and air dome are clear but E31 persists, replace the pressure sensor with the correct Frigidaire part. Transfer the hose and connector to the new sensor.
- Test operation: Reassemble, plug in, and run a fill and wash cycle. Observe that the water level is appropriate and that E31 does not reappear.
