Possible Causes
Failed door lock driver circuit on main control board, Shorted door lock coil, Wiring short between board and lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before testing or replacing electronic components.
- Inspect door lock and wiring: Remove the door lock assembly and check for signs of overheating or melting. Inspect the harness for shorts to chassis or between conductors.
- Test door lock coil: Use a multimeter to measure resistance of the lock coil. Compare to Frigidaire specifications. A shorted or very low resistance coil can damage the board and must be replaced.
- Check control board: Remove the top panel and open the control board housing. Look for burnt components near the door lock driver circuit.
- Replace damaged parts: If the lock coil is shorted, replace the door lock assembly and the main control board to prevent repeat failure. If only the board is damaged and the lock tests good, replace the board.
- Reassemble and test: Reconnect wiring, reinstall panels, plug in, and start a cycle to confirm proper door locking and that E43 is cleared.
