How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before servicing.
- Wiggle test harness: With the washer unplugged, inspect and gently tug on the harness at the door lock and control board ends. Look for loose connectors or broken conductors.
- Clean and secure connectors: Use electrical contact cleaner on the lock and board connectors. Ensure they seat fully and latch.
- Replace door lock if intermittent: If the door sometimes fails to lock or unlock, replace the door lock assembly, as internal microswitches can fail intermittently.
- Replace control board if needed: If a new lock and good wiring do not resolve E45, replace the main control board.
- Test multiple cycles: Run several wash cycles to confirm stable operation and that E45 does not recur.
