Possible Causes
Open motor winding, Loose motor connector, Failing motor control board output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before servicing.
- Check motor connector: Remove the rear panel and reseat the motor connector. Inspect for loose pins or corrosion.
- Test motor windings: Measure resistance between motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed winding and the motor must be replaced.
- Inspect motor control board: If the motor tests good, the control board may not be supplying full power. Inspect for damage and replace if necessary.
- Verify belt condition: Ensure the drive belt is intact and properly tensioned; a slipping belt can mimic low torque.
- Test under load: After repairs, run a wash cycle with a small load to confirm the drum tumbles and spins properly and that E58 is cleared.
