Possible Causes
Loose tachometer connector at motor, Damaged tach sensor, Faulty motor control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before inspection.
- Inspect tach connector: Access the motor and locate the tach sensor connector. Reseat it firmly and check for corrosion.
- Check tach wiring: Follow the tach wires to the control board, looking for breaks or pinched sections. Repair as needed.
- Test tach output: With the motor disconnected, spin the shaft by hand while measuring AC millivolts across the tach leads. No output indicates a bad tach sensor; replace the motor.
- Replace motor control board if needed: If the tach sensor is good but E59 persists, replace the motor control board.
- Run diagnostic spin: After repairs, run a diagnostic spin test to verify stable speed and that E59 is cleared.
