Washer displays E68; heating circuit leakage or ground fault detected

Safety first: Unplug the washer before testing for ground faults.

• Test heater to ground: Disconnect heater wires and measure resistance between each heater terminal and the metal tub or ground. Any measurable continuity indicates a ground fault; replace the heater element.
• Inspect wiring: Check heater wiring for nicks or crushed insulation contacting the cabinet. Repair or replace as needed.
• Dry moisture: If there are signs of water intrusion near the heater terminals, dry the area thoroughly and correct any leaks.
• Reassemble and test: After replacing the heater or repairing wiring, run a hot cycle to confirm E68 is cleared.
