How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before working inside the tub.
- Remove agitator cap: Pry off the top cap of the agitator and remove the retaining bolt.
- Inspect splines and dogs: Pull the agitator off and inspect the internal splines and agitator dogs. Replace worn parts with a Frigidaire agitator repair kit.
- Check motor coupler (if applicable): Tilt the washer back and inspect the coupler between motor and transmission. Replace if cracked or broken.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the agitator and run a wash cycle to confirm proper agitation.
