Possible Causes
Failed NTC temperature sensor, Loose or damaged NTC wiring, Heater circuit overheating sensor, Control misreading NTC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the washer before accessing internal components.
- Locate NTC: On heated GE models, the NTC is often mounted near the heater in the tub or in the inlet valve assembly.
- Inspect wiring: Check the sensor connector and harness for secure fit and damage.
- Test sensor: Disconnect the NTC and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to GE specifications (commonly 5–20 kΩ). If open or shorted, replace the sensor.
- Replace NTC: Remove the old sensor and install the new GE temperature sensor, ensuring a good seal if it penetrates the tub.
