Washer door or lid will not unlock at end of cycle.

Safety First: Unplug the washer. Do not force the door open.

• Wait a few minutes: Some GE models delay unlocking for safety. Wait 2–5 minutes after cycle end.
• Check for water: If water remains in the tub, run a drain/spin cycle. If it will not drain, manually drain via the pump filter.
• Use manual release: Access the manual release tab on the door lock (front-load) or release mechanism under the top (top-load) to open the door.
• Inspect and replace lock: If the lock repeatedly fails to release, replace the GE door or lid lock assembly.
