Safety First: Unplug the washer before cleaning internal parts.
- Clean door boot: Wipe the rubber gasket thoroughly with a solution of hot water and mild bleach or a washer cleaner. Pull back folds to remove trapped debris.
- Run cleaning cycle: Use GE's recommended washer cleaner or a cup of bleach and run a tub clean or hottest cycle with no clothes.
- Clean drain filter: Remove and clean the drain pump filter to eliminate trapped lint and sludge.
- Improve ventilation: Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open between uses to allow drying.
