Possible Causes

Burnt-out heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose or damaged wiring to heater, Faulty main control board relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and ensure the tub is cool and empty before working near the heater.

  • Access heater: On many Gorenje front-loaders, the heater is located at the rear of the tub, accessible from the back panel. Remove the rear panel screws and panel.
  • Visual inspection: Look for signs of burning, corrosion, or limescale buildup around the heater terminals.
  • Test heater resistance: Disconnect the heater wires and measure resistance across the heater terminals with a multimeter. Typical values are 20–30 Ω. If open-circuit or shorted to ground, replace the heater.
  • Check NTC sensor: The NTC is usually mounted in the heater bracket. Measure its resistance at room temperature (commonly 20–30 kΩ). If reading is far off spec or unstable, replace the sensor.
  • Inspect wiring: Ensure all connectors are tight and wires are not burnt or broken between heater, NTC, and control module.

If the heater and NTC test good, the control board heater relay may be faulty and requires professional diagnosis.
