Possible Causes
Defective door lock assembly, Misaligned door latch, Broken door handle or latch hook, Wiring fault between lock and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer before removing the door lock.
- Check door closure: Ensure the Gorenje washer door closes firmly and the latch hook engages fully. Look for broken plastic on the hook or catch.
- Inspect gasket and hinge: A twisted door gasket or sagging hinge can prevent proper locking. Adjust hinge screws if the door is misaligned.
- Test lock sound: When starting a cycle, listen for a distinct click from the door lock. No click suggests a failed lock or no power to it.
- Access door lock: Remove the front retaining band of the door gasket and peel the gasket back near the lock. Unscrew the lock assembly and inspect for burning or damage.
- Check wiring: Ensure the connector to the lock is secure and wires are not broken.
If the lock is physically damaged or tests open-circuit, replace the door lock assembly with a compatible Gorenje part.
