Possible Causes
Worn carbon brushes on universal motor, Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Loose motor wiring connector, Defective motor control triac on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and lay the washer so you can access the rear or bottom safely.
- Check drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand. It should move smoothly without grinding.
- Access motor: Remove the rear panel. Locate the drive motor at the bottom of the tub on the Gorenje washer.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the motor plug is fully seated and wires are not burnt or broken.
- Check carbon brushes (if fitted): Remove the motor and inspect the brushes. If they are shorter than about 1 cm or unevenly worn, replace both brushes with Gorenje-compatible parts.
- Inspect tachometer: On the motor shaft, check the tachometer coil and magnet for damage or loose fit.
If brushes and wiring are good but F6 persists, the motor or control board may require professional testing and replacement.
