Possible Causes

Loose or damaged motor tachometer connector, Failed tachometer coil on motor, Worn carbon brushes (on brush motor models), Faulty motor control circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor or underside.

  • Access the motor: Remove the rear panel. The drive motor is mounted under the drum with a belt connecting to the pulley.
  • Check the belt: Ensure the drive belt is intact and properly tensioned. A slipped or broken belt can cause drum non-rotation but usually not E06 alone.
  • Inspect motor wiring: Verify that the motor plug and tachometer connector are fully seated and free of corrosion or burning.
  • Brush inspection (if applicable): On Gram models with brushed motors, remove the motor and inspect the carbon brushes. If they are worn shorter than about 1 cm, replace both brushes as a set.
  • Tachometer test: With the motor removed and unplugged, measure resistance across the tachometer coil terminals. A typical reading is a few hundred ohms. Open circuit indicates a failed tachometer.
  • Control board: If motor, tachometer, and wiring are good, the motor drive circuit on the main PCB may be faulty and require professional replacement.

Warning: Do not run the washer with the rear panel removed. Rotating parts and live wiring present serious hazards.
