Possible Causes
Severely unbalanced laundry load, Worn suspension shock absorbers, Faulty drum position or speed sensing, Excessive vibration detected by control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
User-level actions:
- Open and redistribute: Once the door unlocks, open the door and redistribute the laundry evenly around the drum. Remove heavy single items and try spinning them separately.
- Check load size: Avoid washing a single heavy item alone. Add a few smaller items to balance the drum.
- Level the washer: Ensure your Gram washer is level on the floor. Adjust the front feet so the machine does not rock when pushed diagonally.
If E08 continues frequently:
- Inspect suspension: Unplug the washer, remove the rear or front panel, and inspect the shock absorbers. If they are leaking oil, bent, or offer little resistance, replace them as a pair.
- Check drum play: Excessive vertical or lateral play may indicate worn bearings or suspension, which can cause chronic imbalance.
Warning: Excessive vibration can damage hoses and wiring. Do not continue using the washer if it moves violently during spin.
