Possible Causes

Shorted motor windings, Shorted motor triac or IGBT on control PCB, Damaged motor wiring harness, Moisture ingress on motor terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If the breaker has tripped or you smell burning, do not attempt repeated restarts. Unplug the washer immediately.

  • Visual inspection: Remove the rear panel and inspect the motor and wiring harness. Look for burn marks, melted insulation, or moisture around the motor terminals.
  • Check harness: Ensure the motor connector is firmly seated and that no wires are pinched between cabinet panels.
  • Motor test (advanced): With the motor disconnected and the washer unplugged, measure resistance between motor windings and from each winding to the motor frame. Any short to frame indicates a failed motor.
  • Control board: If the motor tests good but E09 persists, the power module or motor drive components on the main PCB may be shorted. This repair should be carried out by a qualified technician due to shock and fire risk.

Do not use: Do not continue using the washer until the fault is properly diagnosed and repaired, as electrical shorts can be hazardous.
