Washer shows E10 and does not start; door may not lock properly

Basic checks:

• Inspect door alignment: Close the door slowly and observe if it lines up evenly with the cabinet. If it sags, the hinge screws may be loose and need tightening.
• Check gasket: Examine the rubber door seal for folds, foreign objects, or damage that could prevent full closure. Clean and reposition as needed.
• Listen for lock click: When starting a program, you should hear a distinct click from the door lock. If not, the lock may not be engaging.

Further steps:

• Access door lock: Unplug the washer, remove the front gasket clamp, and pull back the seal to reach the door lock. Check that the wiring connector is secure.
• Replace lock if needed: If the lock body is cracked, loose, or fails continuity tests, replace the door lock assembly with a compatible Gram part.

Note: Do not slam the door to clear the error; this can damage the hinge and glass.
