Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector at heater bracket, Damaged wiring between NTC and PCB, Faulty temperature measurement circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer and allow it to cool before working near the heater.
- Locate NTC: Remove the rear panel. The NTC sensor is usually clipped into the heater housing on Gram washers.
- Check connection: Ensure the NTC plug is firmly seated and free of corrosion or moisture.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the NTC and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare with Gram service specifications (commonly 5–20 kΩ). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
- Inspect wiring: Trace the harness from the NTC to the control board for cuts or pinched sections.
Note: If the NTC and wiring are good but E12 remains, the control board may misread temperature and should be evaluated by a technician.
