Possible Causes
Torn or worn door gasket, Foreign object trapped between drum and seal, Loose door seal retaining clamp, Excessive suds causing overflow at door
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply before inspection.
- Inspect the gasket: Open the door and carefully examine the entire circumference of the rubber door seal on your Gram washer. Look for tears, holes, or splits, especially at the bottom.
- Remove foreign objects: Gently pull back the inner lip of the seal and check for coins, bra wires, or other objects lodged between the drum and seal. Remove any debris.
- Check clamps: Verify that the outer metal or wire clamp holding the seal to the front panel is tight and properly seated in the groove. Refit or tighten if loose.
- Detergent use: If you see foam leaking, reduce detergent quantity and use HE (low-suds) detergent suitable for front-loaders.
- Replace gasket if damaged: If the seal is torn or badly worn, it must be replaced. Remove the outer and inner clamps, pull off the old seal, fit the new Gram-compatible gasket in the tub groove first, then on the front panel, and reinstall clamps securely.
After repair, run a short rinse cycle and watch closely for any leaks.
