Washer will not start cycle and door will not lock; E01 displayed on Hoover washing machine.

Safety first: Unplug the Hoover washer from the mains and turn off the water supply before any work. Never work on live circuits.

• 1. Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and the latch engages firmly. Inspect the plastic door catch on the door and the metal hook/receiver on the cabinet for damage or misalignment. Gently lift the door while closing to see if it locks.
• 2. Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and try a short cycle. Sometimes the PCB will clear a temporary lock error.
• 3. Inspect door interlock: Remove the front door seal clamp, pull back the seal, and access the door lock assembly. Check for burnt smell, cracks, or signs of overheating. Wiggle the connector to ensure it is firmly seated.
• 4. Check wiring: With power still disconnected, inspect the wiring harness from the door lock to the main PCB (usually at the top or rear). Look for broken, pinched, or corroded wires and loose connectors.
• 5. Replace door lock: If the lock is visibly damaged or still shows E01 after checks, replace the door interlock assembly with a Hoover-compatible part. Refit the seal and clamp carefully to avoid leaks.
• 6. If problem persists: The main control board may not be sending the lock signal. This requires advanced testing and usually replacement by a qualified technician.
